Emu Heights

Bin Collection

 Information

Penrith City Council manages Emu Heights local

household waste collections.

Council’s standard three bin kerbside service is:

* Green lid – Food and garden organics – Weekly

* Yellow lid – mixed recycling – Fortnightly

* Red lid – Residual rubbish – Fortnightly, a weekly service

is available at an additional cost.

The council recommends putting the bins due for collection

out the evening before, with lids closed and clear access for

the collection truck.

If your property uses shared bins, check the collection arrangements

with your strata manager.

About Emu Heights

Emu Heights sits on the western side of the Nepean River,

at the foot of the Blue Mountains.

It is part of the Penrith local government area, beside

Emu Plains and close to the boundary with the Blue Mountains

council area.

Old Bathurst Road runs through the southern part of the suburb,

reflecting its place on the route towards the mountains.

The area’s earlier orchards, dairy farms and small farms form

part of its local history, before the growth of residential housing.

For households keeping on top of food scraps, garden clippings

and recycling, the three bin routine brings several collections

to remember. A reminder the evening before helps you prepare the

right bins without checking the calendar each week.

If you have just settled into Emu Heights or have lived here for

years, Bin Reminder helps make bin night a simpler part

of your household routine.
